“Huwag maging dayuhan sa sariling bayan.” Makes sense right.
Imagine if someone not from your place gave you a tour to one of the can be
tourist spot on your very own place? =) or if somebody asks you a certain place
yet you do not know?
This
time I’ll take you to a place where when we went there, most of the people have
traveled for a very long hour just to be enchanted by this river. And why this
river would gave you a reason to be relaxed, amazed, and astonished.
Talisay,
Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur, this is where the famous Enchanted River is. It took
us almost 3 hours to get there. There’s not much problem getting there since it
was on the National Highway but not on almost 5 kilometer road going inside the
river.
So when
we got there, I thought to myself after just seeing the huge sign “Thank you
for making the Enchanted River. . .” and tons and tons and tons of people, I
said, this is it??? I should have stayed home, sleep and watch cable. And then I saw the dark blue water “yeah this
is really is it; I saw this picture on one of my friends photo”.
I really thought there’s a limit in letting people in but I
was wrong, we were still given passes and the only thing to mind is, there’s no
vacant cottage!!! What we just did is we put all our things and eat just beside
on the little bench. Yes. But, it was not just only us. And come to think of
it, what about those cars who are behind us? Where do they think to stay?
So here
we go, our stomach was already full, it’s time to full our eyes with this
magical power of the river, my sister and I decided to walk around, we went
downstairs and was just amazed with the inviting cool and clear water; like
c’mon just jump into the water and enjoy. Well I don’t think I can just jump in
right away coz it’s a little deep and I don’t know how to swim, haha. Anyways,
my head just filled right away with words to write on my blog. Yeah, I wanted
to record myself on what was I thinking about that moment, or just writing it
down right away, but that could be weird.
The
other girls who are our company decided not to change clothes and swim yet. You
know girls, very conscious with their skin and body (and it was very hot, it
was around eleven though.) so we went outside look for Uncle Esie (he was not able
to get inside coz no one will look for Betchay which is their adorable dog, and
pets or animals are not allowed to get in) and we found him under a tree on a
little cottage. He had chatted with one of the people there and they said we
could rent a boat to take us to a fish cage and on a little island. Sounds exciting
but I’m scared with boats and on a deep blue ocean. But! Since my mom is going
with us (she has a history with oceans too!) I decided why not! So 5 girls on the other boat; Doreen, An-An,Inday, Bebe, Joan, and
Doreen’s cousin, and 4 on the other; mama Angie, me, my sister Resha and Uncle
Esie.
As the boat slowly going out to the sea, I can’t help myself
but to be amazed by the beauty of the place. Every wonderful formation of the
rocks, the views, all that I can say is wow and my jaw was dropping and I can’t
help but smile and things where running into my head what will I write down.
After several minutes, we are about to see the white island
but I was wondering where could it be and we are getting closer to a portion
where there are big waves (my heart’s came rushing in again afraid that our
boat might flip over) and you could observe that every waves from different
direction met at one portion!
And the reason is this, this is what they call the white
island (like one in Camiguin Island) but they call it as the Vanishing Island.
Well, from the name itself it clearly says this island vanishes at some point
of the day (were lucky we were able to see it)
Next stop after the Vanishing Island, we went back again
where we from and this time we drop by to a fish cage.
The Sibadan had large fish cages with a lot of fishes in it.
Well just enough for the number of fishes that they might not look too crowded.
They can also accommodate costumers who wanted to stay there overnight, had
some fried fish from the cages.
Fortunately! You can actually and literally swim with the
fishes! Well, my sister tried it with my godmother’s working student (I forgot
her name let’s just call her inday ^.^ hehehehe).
They also sell souvenirs, designed shell, key chains and a
lot more, a lot to choose from.
After how many minutes we headed back to our small boats to
go back to the river.
It was really fun, though our time was up; I was filled with
joy and awe at the beauty of the place. It was worth it.
My last words?? Kidding, but seriously, everywhere you see or look, its
God’s creation. This trip reminds me again how wonderful, amazing, and powerful
God is. He makes this river as enchanting as it could be the rock formation
along the sea, and the vanishing island. We are ought to take care of this
things and not to abuse it. I am thankful to God for uplifting my soul that
time (going through some hard time).
As Agusanon’s, we should be really proud of this, we hope to
attract more tourists to help the living of the people. To think that this is
not just the only treasure Surigao had but also the Tinuy-an Falls and etc.
I hope who ever could read this, may you visit this place
and experience what we had. Have fun. God bless.
